A pregnant woman who was charged with being drunk on the street appeared at Naas District Court this morning. The woman, who was not pregnant when charged, was after attending the funeral of her best friend at the time of the offence, the court heard. Evidence was given by her solicitor, Seamus Boyle, that she no longer drinks, once she discovered she was pregnant. Supt Martin Walker gave evidence that the accused had 'too much to drink'.
