Gardai have identified a male and female who were involved in a hit and run incident as well as a theft at Smyth's toy store in the Globe Retail Park in Naas this morning. A man entered the shop, with the female driver waiting in the car seemingly unaware of what was about to happen, and stole an item before running out to the car and enticing the female driver to drive away from the scene. The man took control of the steering wheel at one stage, and hit into an open door of another parked vehicle, forcing the car to swerve and crash into the back of another parked car in the area. The incident happened at around 11.35am this morning. The two suspects were identified by Gardai a short time later and the stolen items were recovered and returned to the store.
