Man assaulted in Navan yesterday has died in hospital

A man who was seriously assaulted in Navan yesterday afternoon has passed away in hospital today. The 27-year-old, who has been named as Christopher Nevin from Navan was assaulted by a number of males at Tailtean road, Winetown at around 2.15pm yesterday afternoon and his attackers got back into a silver car and drove off in the direction of the town centre. Mr Nevin was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he was in intensive care last night. He passed away as a result of his injuries this morning. Gardai in Navan are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was on the Tailtean Rd or in the vicinity of Winetown between 1.50pm and 2.30pm on the 19th November or anyone who may have any information to contact them on 046 9079930, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
