Islamic extremists have been identified in Ireland in the past few years

It has been revealed that Islamic extremists were identified in Ireland back in 2011/12 by the Irish Defence Forces. That information was then passed on to the CIA so they could examine the information. The Sunday Times reports that the intelligence was gathered through eavesdropping on phonecalls by Irish citizens that were suspected of being involved in Islamic terror activity. The CIA also pledged to help train members of the Defence Forces in a manner which would help them deal with and identify the threat of suspected jihadists. The suspected extremists were reportedly Muslims who had legally entered the country and gained residency before turning to involvement in extremist groups.
