Latest Army troops begin work in UN trouble spot in Lebanon

A new contingent of troops have just begin a new tour of duty in Lebanon. The 51st Infantry Group were deployed to United Nations Post 2-45 in South Lebanon on November 17. Meanwhile the 49th Infantry Group have arrived home safely to their families and friends. A Defence Forces spokesman said: "The 51st will now join their 335 Finnish comrades in the FINN-IRISH BATTALION, inheriting the rich legacy of Irish Defence Forces units in the wider Middle East that have gone before them."
