Santa currently on route to Naas to turn on the Christmas lights
28 Nov 2015
The Naas Fire Brigade have apparently received an urgent call from Santa Claus as the big man seeks a lift from the North Pole to Naas so he can turn on the Christmas lights in the town.
Though it is a few miles out of the fire brigade's service area, we are sure they can make an exception as James Lawless, Mayor of Naas, hopes that Santa can make it to the town in time to help him switch on the lights at 2pm this afternoon.
Many of Santa's helpers from "Santa's House Express" and his friends from the Moat Club will be out and about on Naas Main Street from 2pm today (Saturday November 28th) spreading Christmas cheer. They will then make their way toward Naas Town Hall where they'll be joined by Santa Clause himself for some Christmas songs and the official turning on of the Christmas lights - there's even talk of some snow in the area!
