Ballysax residents targeting the council office with protest on Monday morning
28 Nov 2015
The group that is protesting against the development of a quarry site just off the Curragh will bring their protest to Naas on Monday morning as they plan on voicing their opinions outside the County Council office in the town. Four men appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon after they were arrested following protests at the quarry site last Tuesday. The four men were ordered to stay more than 50 metres away from the site at all times. The protest will begin at around 10am and they are expecting a group of up to 40 protesters to congregate outside the office. They may also move on to Newbridge straight after where they plan on canvassing outside the Garda station. A member of the group told KildareNow that the development is unauthorised and is not in compliance with Kildare County Council regulations.
