Weather update: Likelihood of floods all over as wind and rain down for the day
5 Dec 2015
It is one of those Saturdays best spent by the fire with the feet up as the full force of Storm Desmond is now blowing across the whole country and causing significant problems outside. Another day of very heavy rain and wind is set for Kildare, although we are getting it nowhere near as bad as those in the Western part of the country. Rain will be heavy until the evening time when it will become a bit lighter with scattered showers persisting in most areas. High winds of up to 120kmh are expected in parts of the country today, with south westerly winds getting stronger as the day goes on. Temperatures will remain between 10 and 13 degrees. Tonight will unfortunately bring more of the same as the rain becomes quite heavy again while winds will continue to blow at gale force. Lowest overnight temperatures of around 6-8 degrees.
