Relieved donkey 'Mike' laughing like an ass after rescue from floods
8 Dec 2015
This donkey could not have been happier after being rescued from dangerous flood waters. The mule's paddock gates in Killorglin, Co Kerry were ripped open after Storm Desmond battered the country over the weekend. The grey ass, who rescuers named Mike, took a stroll and ended up stranded in floodwaters just outside the town. Animal Haven Animal Rescue received a call on Sunday afternoon and rescuers set off in a boat down the River Laune to find the donkey. After a desperate search, they found the animal struggling in the water, his head barely remaining above the surface. And the big cheesy grin on his face shows just how grateful he was to his big-hearted rescue team. The Animal Haven Animal Rescue dried him off with warm towels while a vet started him on antibiotics to prevent pneumonia.
