If you've been affected by the recent floods, you may be entitled to Government funds

If you have been flooded by record rainfall this month you may be able to get financial help from the Department of Social Protection’s Humanitarian Assistance Scheme. Communities along the banks of the River Shannon are today still at risk of flooding and an appeal has been issued for more volunteers to provide operational support for pumps in some of the most vulnerable residential areas. However a means-tested scheme provides emergency financial assistance to households who are not able to meet costs for essential needs immediately following flooding. The scheme aims to provide financial support to people who have suffered damage to their home. It is designed to alleviate hardship rather than provide full compensation for damage.
