A Co Kildare woman is renewing appeals for the return of her elderly mother's wedding ring following a raid in her home. Raiders entered the home of a 72-year-old widow at Maryville, Kildare town, by forcing the rear door open, on Thursday last, between 4.30p.m. and 9.30p.m. on Thursday last. The pensioner was not in the house at the time, as she was recovering from an operation, with her family. Raiders escaped with a box of valuable jewellery including the widow's gold wedding band which she received over 52 years ago. Some of the jewellery stolen included a green jade ring, blue sapphire ring, a gold T -bar necklace, bracelets, pearl earrings and chain to match along with Newbridge silverware jewellery, which the pensioner received on her 70th birthday. Catherine Hunter is appealing to Cash for Gold sellers to watch out for her mother's jewellery. She said: "Thank God, my mother was not in the house, they could have done something to her."
