Is house in Co Kildare the cheapest in Ireland?

House this for a bargain?! A family home on the market for €30,000 could be the cheapest house in Co Kildare at the moment. A recent survey said the price of the average three-bed semi detached house in Co Kildare is €242,500 and is increasing by almost €1,000 a month.

This attractive three-bedroom property on Woodstock Street in Athy also has a back garden. The mid-terrace No 29 house has a floor area of approximately 70 sq. m (750 sq. ft). The REA Average House Price Survey published last month said the lack of suitable housing in Co Kildare is driving up prices. The average price of a three-bed semi in the county is €243,500 - more than €50,000 higher than the rest of the country. The property in Athy is close to a wide range of nearby amenities like Pettitt's SuperValu and K Leisure as well as bars and restaurants. The River Barrow also flows nearby. The house is Lot 66 in the Allsop property auction in the RDS on Thursday, April 28. Three other properties in Co Kildare are also included in that sale. A four-bedroom house in Alymer Park in Naas is under the hammer for €260,000. A 12-bedroom mansion, Togher House, in Monasterevin for sale for €250,000 requires modernisation but is an ideal boutique hotel. A detached three-bed house in Foxglen, Cadamstown, Broadford is on the market for €175,000.
