Two people were injured this evening in the Temple Bar area of Dublin near Merchant's Arch, the landmark shortcut to the Ha'penny Bridge. Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade attended the incident and said two people were taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be serious. The injured parties are confirmed as one woman and one man, who were thought to be injured after the hoarding over the archway collapsed. Merchant's Arch is a popular shortcut from the Temple Bar area to the Ha'penny Bridge, with Merchant's Quay also being the access area to many of Dublin's public bus services. The area is also popular with tourists for its many long established music bars and cafés.
