Maynooth train station could be set for a revamp after lodging planning application

The train station in Maynooth could be given somewhat of a facelift in the coming months as Iarnród Éireann have lodged an application for a small upgrade to the Kildare County Council. The train operators have requested permission to construct an additional 38 parking spaces at the station, which will be located on the surface are of the existing car park. The access point to the station from the Straffan Road(R405) has also been analysed, and there has been a request submitted to make changes to the junction. There will also be a formalisation of pedestrian routes to the station in Maynooth if permission is granted by the council.
