20 new homes to be built in Kilcock as Kildare Co Council plan to develop more social housing

A request for tender has been put forward by the Kildare County Council for the construction of 20 new houses in Kilcock. KildareNow has learned that the site for the new houses was originally serviced in 2007, before the full mire of the recession became known to the public. A total of 20 units of affordable housing was due to be built on the site, but there were not enough buyers to go ahead with construction. Kildare County Council now wish to develop the site, and there will be 20 new social homes constructed there. They will vary in size, with two-bedroom, three-bedroom and four-bedroom homes set to be built when construction gets underway. The previous utilities are still available on the site, though the council have outlined that some demolition and site preparation work will need to be carried out before work can commence.
