More than 3,000 props used in the Penny Dreadful TV series are to be auctioned at Punchestown racecourse next month. Set in Victorian London and made in Ardmore Studios in Bray, it was shown on Sky Atlantic between 2014 and 2016 before being cancelled. The cast included Josh Hartnett, Billie Piper, Timothy Dalton, Eva Greene and Reeve Carney. Ashgrove Auctions Group has now been contracted by the producers to sell thousands of props used in making the show. They are a mix of real antiques and realistic fakes comprising furniture such as four-poster beds, a phonograph, oil paintings, shops signs and chandeliers. The lots can be viewed on Friday, September 9. The auction will take place over three days in Punchestown, beginning on Tuesday, September 13th.
