The property bubble in Kildare continues to inflate with each passing month, and the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office outline just how much the market is growing in the county. Celbridge has become the fifth most expensive town in Ireland to buy a home outside of Dublin, with popular coastal destinations Greystones, Bray, Kinsale and busy Meath commuter town Dunboyne being the only towns to have a higher average price for a home. The average cost of buying a house in Celbridge has soared to €296,899, though that is some way behind the €404,717 average price in Greystones. There were a total of 1,566 houses purchased in Kildare in 2015, which makes it the third most active housing market in the country behind Galway and Cork. 233 of the homes purchased were new dwellings, a figure that is surpassed by only Cork. The least expensive area in Ireland to buy a home is in Castlerea, Co Roscommon, where the average house price is €72,350.
