Naas/Caragh road blocked as 40-foot truck gets stuck at Caragh Bridge

The Caragh/Naas road is currently blocked after a large truck became stuck at the Caragh Bridge inside the last half hour. The truck is currently blocking the left lane of the road coming out of Caragh, meaning traffic cannot use that side of the road to travel towards Naas. It is understood that the truck may have suffered a mechanical failure, rather than becoming wedged underneath the railway bridge on the outskirts of the town. Gardaí have arrived at the scene and diversions may be put in place to alleviate the problems caused by the road blockage. Gardaí in Naas confirmed to KildareNow that the road is currently blocked in at least one direction, and traffic is now quite heavy in the area.
