Traffic: High volumes blamed for delays on N7/M7 and M4

An increased number of vehicles using the main motorways out of Co Kildare into Dublin - rather than collisions - is being blamed for heavier than usual congestion. AA Roadwatch said there are no incidents reported and attributed the congestion to extra volumes of traffic. One commuter said it took her almost one hour to get from the Monasterevin (J14) junction on the M7 to the M7/M9 merge. Another motorist said the N4 city-bound near Liffey Valley is also very slow.
AA Roadwatch said it was taking 90 minutes to travel from Junction 12 Newbridge to the Red Cow Roundabout.
