Weather: Cloudy and wet. Storm Doris brings high winds tonight

Today will be mostly cloudy, with occasional outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Rain will turn heavier and more persistent in the afternoon and evening. It will conntinue to be mild, with maximum temperatures of 11 to 13 Celsius. Storm Doris  Met Eireann has issued a Yellow Alert weather warning for severe winds expected over tonight and Thursday morning. Southwest winds of mean speeds 50 to 65km/h will develop giving gusts of 90 to 110km/h. Britain is bracing itself for potentially severe damage to buildings, power cuts and travel chaos. Met Éireann forecaster Jean Byrne said thankfully Ireland looks set to avoid the strongest wind from Storm Doris.
