Over a dozen new homes are set for Newbridge with a contract sealed today by Kildare County Council. Kildare County Council today signed the contract with C & A Build and Civil of Rosemount Park Drive, Dublin for the construction of 13 A2 rated residential units in Newbridge. The development consists of 4 single storey houses, 2 two storey houses and 7 apartments located in a prime town centre location which currently exists as a brownfield site. It is anticipated by September 2018, the houses will be built. They are being funded by the Government under the ‘’Rebuilding Ireland - Action Plan for Housing and Homelessness’’. Mayor of Kildare, Cllr. Martin Miley welcomed the signing of the first contract for construction of Council houses in Newbridge for a number of years and looked forward to other signings for more schemes throughout the County over the next year. Mr Coleman Mulgrew of C&A Build and Civil commented ‘this is the first contract we have undertaken with Kildare and are looking forward to a successful contract and would hope to undertake further work in Kildare in the future’’. The Deputy Chief Executive of Kildare County Council, Mr. Tadhg Mc Donnell observed the extensive construction programme being undertaken by Kildare County Council over the coming years and anticipated that the progressive programme would contribute to providing long awaited social housing for those in most need in our county.
