Plans lodged for retail and residential development in the centre of Straffan

A planning application has been submitted to Kildare County Council for the construction of a development that would consist of a number of apartments, houses and retail units. The application was submitted on Monday, and the proposer is seeking to build a two-storey mixed use blocks in the place of existing derelict structures in the centre of Straffan village. The plans outline how the applicant seeks to build three retail units on the ground floor, along with a bin store and five apartments on the first floor. It is planned that the development will be built on a site adjacent to the Mace store on Station Road. The overall development will also consist of one four-bedroom two-storey detached house, 10 two-storey three-bedroom semi-detached houses and four two-bedroom  two-storey terraced houses, provision of 16 car parking spaces, new vehicular / pedestrian entrances from Station Road and all associated site works.
