Irish rugby stars help launch Naas RFC's Operation Transformation for 2018

Irish rugby stars Adam Byrne and James Tracy were on hand this week to help launch Naas RFC's Operation Transformation, which will be getting up and running at the start of January 2018 to help those who are looking to shake off the Christmas cobwebs. The two Leinster stars, who were both given their rugby education in Naas, arrived as special guests on Wednesday evening to promote the healthy living campaign being organised by the club, while Tracy also donated the Irish jersey from his debut game against Canada to the club. The eight week programme is beginning on the first Tuesday in January where participants will be weighed in and team leaders will assemble teams of approximately 10 people. From there onwards the participants will be able to avail of a free exercise class each Tuesday, an exercise plan, a timed park run each week and regular walks at Naas RFC. Two fitness experts from K Leisure are also involved, and they will help with outdoor events such as a bootcamp in the Curragh and hiking walks, as well as answering any questions people may have. Along with all of this, catering on site will offer healthy options during the Operation Transformation campaign where those taking part will be given guidelines to help them make better lifestyle choices. Each contestant will be weighed in each Tuesday in private by professional nurses to keep track of their progress over the weeks. The fee for entering Operation Transformation at Naas RFC is €100 per person, and the team who loses the most combined weight will be able to donate €2,000 to a charity of their choice.
