KCC asked to 'urgently write' to NTA over issues at Athy and Monasterevin train stations

Kildare County Council have been asked to contact the National Transport Authority regarding problems with the train stations in Monasterevin and Athy. Local Cllr Mark Wall has requested that a letter be wrote to the NTA in relation to overcrowding and pricing issues surrounding the train stations in the south of the county, which is causing dissatisfaction among many customers. "Can the council urgently write to the National Transport Authority and Iarnród Éireann asking their representatives to a special meeting to discuss urgent issues regarding pricing and overcrowding for Monasterevin and Athy rail users as well as other commuting concerns at both these rail stations?," read a motion from Cllr Wall, which will be discussed at a meeting of the Athy Municipal District. https://twitter.com/Thomas_Redmond/status/950307622825218049 The council and Irish Rail have previously looked into developing both stations, though it appears that there is some way to go before they can provide a satisfactory service to customers.
