The first playground for a Co Kildare village is soon set to become a reality. At Caragh Village, Naas, tenders are now being sought for contractors to develop a long-awaited playground. According to Fine Gael Cllr, Fintan Brett, construction is likely to start on Caragh playground by this September. TD Martin Heydon said: "My colleague Cllr Fintan Brett has been working consistently with Kildare County Council and the community on this project and he advises me that the deadlines for tenders to be returned is May 11. I will continue to work with Fintan to help to see this important facility for families in Caragh completed as soon as possible." Funding is now available to develop several playgrounds throughout the county, with tenders being made offered for Eadestown playground this week. Meanwhile, submissions are now being welcomed for Sallins Playground, with the deadline on June 8, next. The proposed playground , available for children, ranging from 1 to 12 years-old, will contain lots of equipment, suitable for this age group, including swings, slides, seesaws, rockers, multi-play units, adventure trails, sand play seating and landscaping features.
