Bank of Ireland has said that some customers are experiencing intermittent issues with debit card point of sale and ATM transactions.
Earlier this month, a Visa card outage caused problems across Ireland creating long queues at ATMs as people found themselves unable to make cashless transactions.
In the latest incident, Bank of Ireland said it is investigating the issue and will continue to update customers.
It added that Bank of Ireland cards are working at Bank of Ireland and Ulster Bank ATMs, and credit cards are working normally. "We apologise for any inconvenience," the statement added. A spokesperson for the bank said that about one in seven cards was affected by the issue. "We are aware some customers are having intermittent issues with debit card point of sale and ATM transactions. "Credit cards should be working. We are investigating this and will provide an update asap."
