The Lilywhites led 1-06 to 0-03 against Offaly earlier at Hawkfield when the referee finally decided to call the game off. Already Michelle Curley of Moorefield suffered concussion as the snow began to impact on the League fixture which commenced at 2pm today. The Kildare player was taken to Naas Hospital but after an Offaly player was injured, the referee called management aside to discuss whether or not to continue. Following the injury of a second Offaly player, the referee then addressed the two captains before he blew the whistle and signalled the end of the game. "Disappointing for Kildare Captain Grace Clifford and the Kildare panel" said Donal Fitzpatrick, LGFA Kildare PRO "But absolutely the right decision in the interests of health and safety for the players". Donal stated there was as yet, there was no confirmation of rescheduled venue and time from headquarters.
