Leading Irish nursing home group Brindley Healthcare has acquired the 79-bed Maynooth Lodge Nursing Home in Co Kildare in a deal worth over €10 million. The acquisition means the group now owns and operates 9 nursing homes with a combined capacity of over 500 beds located in Counties Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Kildare and Laois. Maynooth Lodge Nursing Home is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art nursing home that commenced trading in October 2015. It is a single-storey nursing home comprising 75 single bedrooms and 2 double bedrooms, all with ensuite facilities, and sits on a three-acre site adjacent to NUI Maynooth. Welcoming the deal, Amanda Torrens, founder and CEO of Brindley Healthcare, said; “We are delighted to announce this latest acquisition, which means Brindley Healthcare now operates nine best-in-class nursing homes in Ireland. Maynooth Lodge Nursing Home enjoys a deserved reputation for excellence and, as such, is a natural addition to our rapidly expanding group. Our residents are our top priority and we are proud to place them and their families at the heart of everything we do. Our management are looking forward to working with the staff of Maynooth Lodge Nursing Home to continue to offer residents a superior standard of care in luxurious surroundings.” Brindley Healthcare is one of Ireland’s largest privately-owned nursing home groups with a reputation for providing the highest standards of elderly care. It was established by entrepreneur Amanda Torrens in 2000 with a 35-bed nursing home in County Donegal and now comprises nine nursing homes, with three in Donegal, two in Kildare, and additional facilities in Galway, Mayo, Kildare and Laois.
