Gardaí arrested a driver on the M9 motorway last night after detecting a number of offences, including driving under the influence of drugs at high speed.
Gardaí stopped the motorists on the major road in Carlow last night after detecting the car travelling at 176kmh, a road which has a 120kmh speed limit.
The driver was then subjected to an oral drug test, where they tested positive for cocaine. Gardaí also noted that the motorist's licence had previously expired and that there was no insurance on the vehicle, and a false insurance disc was on display.
The driver was arrested and will appear in court at a later date.
