Mayor warns about 'scam' workmen who took money from elderly man

Mayor of Kildare Cllr Martin Miley Jnr was issued a warning about unqualified tradesmen travelling around the south Kildare area in a white Transit van.

The politician claimed that the men 'took a large sum of money from an elderly man [in Narraghmore] to do work that they did not do and left the scene'

Cllr Miley warned: "Please be vigilant and look in on your neighbours. Gardaí have been informed.

The men were driving a 2010 TN white-coloured Ford Transit.

Cllr Miley added: "This same three were involved in a similar incident in Churchtown, Castlemitchell Area on the 9 February."

He claimed they are believed to be living in the wider community.
