Mother of stricken Clondalkin teenager relieved she can finally grieve for her son

The mother of a 14-year-old Clondalkin boy has revealed that she is relieved that she can finally grieve for her son after an 'open verdict' was returned at an inquest into the youngster's death.
Jack Mc Gill Lynch died in Tallaght hospital in March 2013 after a suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The inquest dates back all the way to May 2014, and coroner Dr Brian Farrell finally returned a verdict yesterday to put an end to the case.
Jake suffered from asperger's syndrome and also had anxiety issues, but had been prescribed prozac for his condition. He wrote in an email 24 hours before his death that he felt 'drugged' and "panicked to the point of tears before some pretty big exams".
Stephanie Mc Gill Lynch, Jake's mother, said "Kids are walking around drugged out of their minds, we have a generation of zombies."
She also expressed her relief at the ordeal finally being over. "It's a huge relief. It allows us to grieve now," she said after the inquest. You can't let go of that night but this allows another chapter to close. This is the verdict he deserved because in our eyes it was drug induced," she said.
