A man told his wife 'be careful' as ' someone could splash acid' on her face appeared before Naas District Court.
Evidence was heard how his wife, residing in the Midlands, agreed to meet him at Costa Coffee, in the Monread Shopping Centre, Naas, in September 27, 2017.
A barring order had been imposed against the accused at the time. He was on bail for charges in relation to breaching a barring order, when the allegations arose that he threatened to have acid 'splashed' in his wife's face.
At Naas District Court, last Thursday, his wife outlined to the court that she was 'in fear' of her husband.
She said: "You never know what he can do, he is very aggressive."
Defence Solicitor, Timmy Kennelly, said: "I would put it to you that he was not aggressive."
Defence denied that the accused threatened to throw acid in his wife's face.
Judge Desmond Zaidan ordered that that the accused undertake a programme for 12 weeks that examines aspects of domestic violence and an understanding of its impact on the victim.
The Judge ordered that the accused appear before Naas District Court on July 5, for a Probation Report.
