Naas  Court  today hears young man on push bike found with €200 worth of cannabis

Naas District Court heard today how a young man stopped by Gardaí while on a push -bike was found with €200 worth of cannabis.

The court heard evidence from the 23-year-old that he does not smoke anymore.

Judge Desmond Zaidan said: "€200 is a lot of cannabis for his personal use."

Defence Solicitor Séamus Boyle told the court how the young man had 'bad habits' but has given up cannabis.

The accused told the court how he stopped smoking cannabis last Christmas, and had been employed up until last Friday, when his contract came to an end. Evidence was given that he had no previous convictions.

He gave an undertaking that he has given up drugs forever.

Judge Zaidan said: "I will give him a chance. Don't come back before me."

The Judge imposed the Probation Act Section 1(1),legal aid was assigned.
