A Naas-based insurance company is introducing cover for those who work with horses.

Dooley Insurance Group will launch plans for employees at riding schools, stud farms, training yards and racecourses at next week's Punchestown Festival.

The launch will coincide with the 60th anniversary of the broker.

The firm's managing director Tim Dooley said: "We're delighted to launch our Equine Insurance Division.

"And being able to do so by sponsoring two fantastic races at Punchestown seems a fitting way to do so."

Dooley Insurance Group proudly sponsor the first flat race of the festival on Tuesday, The Dooley Insurance Flat Race, and they will also sponsor the first race on the final day of the festival when The Dooley Insurance WFA Steeplechase goes to post on Saturday afternoon.

Mr Dooley added; "Being based in Kildare, which is the thoroughbred county, we have seen first-hand how our customers have struggled to gain access to quality insurance cover and policies that meet their needs.

"Our dedicated and experienced team will be able to provide policies that are not only competitive, but tailored to suit the individual needs of customers on a case by case basis.”

He added: “There has been cover available before, but that has traditionally been for farms and businesses, not equine. People have had to look further afield for insurance specific to the equine industry, but we will provide cover for all eventualities and solutions to meet the needs of everyone in the equine industry.”

“The Punchestown festival is always a major event in the calendar for both businesses and punters in Kildare, and to have such involvement in the week’s events is great. We’re really proud to be celebrating 60 years in business and the launch of our equine division is another way in which we are looking to expand our market and provide more services to our customers.”

A wide range of sectors of the equine industry will be covered under the Dooley Insurance Group's new department, ranging from freelance instructors right up to racehorse trainers. The Kildare firm also boast extremely competitive pricing on horsebox covers, an area that some brokers will not even cover.
