Naas Judge says 'no man or woman should be putting up with domestic violence'

A Judge at Naas Family Law Court told a woman who says she 'can't sleep at night' with worry following threats from her ex-boyfriend and father to her child.

The woman, who appeared in court, with facial injuries, that she said were inflicted on her, when she told her ex that she wanted her family to attend their child's christening.

In court, she said: "He said, 'I don't give a fxxk about your family. You have to respect my wishes. He jumped off the chair, he got me around my neck, he grabbed me."

She outlined how she told him she was sorry as she wanted him to stop hitting her.

In court, she outlined how he took her phone and smashed it off the ground. She says that a neighbour came to her assistance while he was demanding that she drive him to his home.

She claims that he is now threatening to wreck cars belonging to her family.

Judge Desmond Zaidan said: "No man or woman should be putting up with domestic violence."

A Protection Order has been granted,  they are ordered to appear before Naas Family Law Court on September, next.
