Naas Pizza delivery man gets 'momentary lapse of concentration'

A Naas man who was charged with careless driving while delivering pizzas appeared before the District Court today.

Inspector Patsy Glennon outlined how the young man, who had a provisional driving licence at the time,  crossed a stop sign while reading a delivery note. He was charged with dangerous driving reduced to careless driving at Firmount Cross, Clane, on April 3, 2016.

Inspector Glennon outlined how the accused 'should have been paying attention but crossed the stop sign.'

Defence Solicitor, Conal Boyce, told the court how the accused got a job after a lengthly period of unemployment and that it was a 'momentary lapse of concentration.'

The court heard how the accused is now a driver for Dublin Bus and has no previous convictions.

Judge Desmond Zaidan imposed the probation act on the accused.
