It's set to be a busy weekend for Naas World Taekwondo Club as they head to England to compete in the Taekwondo Chundokwan Great Britain Championships tomorrow and on Sunday.
Instructor Shane Smyth and student Liam Rideway (7) will representing both Naas and the World Taekwondo Association Ireland this weekend when they compete in the Taekwondo Chungdokwan Great Britain Championships in Bracknell in England.
Speaking to KildareNow, instructor Shane explained that the competition is taking place on both Saturday and Sunday in the Bracknell Leisure Centre. This year's two-day event is a special one as it is also commerating Chungdokwan's 75th anniversary.
The Naas World Taekwondo Club was founded in October 2016 by instructor Shane Smyth and he is also a black belt in Taekwondo himself.
Naas World Taekwondo Club has enjoyed a very successful year and in October last, as students scooped 10 medals including one Gold, four silver and five bronze at the Chundokwan International Open Taekwondo Competition.
The club currently has 40 plus members made up of all ages ranging from 5-55 years old.
Classes are on in Naas Community National School, Craddockstown, Naas. Classes are every Monday and Thursday Junior class is 6.30-7.15pm. Senior Class is from 7.30-8.30pm.
Beginners of all ages and fitness levels welcome anytime.
