Kildare Co Council has confirmed that all planning applications for housing developments granted by the planning authority are also required to indicate the proposed name of the developments.

The issue was raised at this month's Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District meeting.

Councillor Íde Cussen had asked that the Planning Department provide a report to the Municipal District Committee on the current process that is followed when naming housing developments in the Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District.

Cllr Cussen also queried if these developments were complying with the County Development Plan and Local Area Plans on "Naming New Developments”.

Junction improvements

At the same meeting, Councillor Cussen asked for a time frame be given for the junction improvements at the Shackleton Road/Clane Road in Celbridge.

She was told that the Municipal District Engineer in conjunction with the Traffic Management Section will carry out an assessment of the signals at this junction.
