Batten down the hatches! Status Yellow weather warning in place for TWELVE counties

A Status Yellow weather warning is in place for twelve counties as well as the province of Connacht. 

According to Met Éireann, unseasonably windy weather is to be expected today (Saturday July 8) across Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow, and Connacht. 

The wind warning came into effect at 6am this morning and is expected to last until 12pm noon today. 

Met Éireann is warning people to be wary of potential damage to temporary structures such as tents, and to be vigilant regarding falling branches. 

A Small Craft warning is also in place for all coasts of Ireland, with southeasterly to southwesterly winds expected to reach gale force 6 or higher. 

The warning ends at 6pm today.
