A new film featuring Hollywood legend Aidan Quinn (inset) is looking for extras for the production
Donegal's reputation as a top-class film location has received another boost with the news that cast members are being sought for a production that is soon to be filmed in Inishowen.
The team behind Cry From The Sea which will star Hollywood legend Aidan Quinn is looking for men aged between 20 and 60 for minor roles, a 9-10 year old boy for a speaking role and extras of all ages for male and female roles.
The romantic drama will be directed by Vic Sarin (Partition, A Shine of Rainbows) and centers on Edith, an enigmatic American widow who visits an Irish island to be near the spot where her childhood boyfriend drowned during World War I.
She meets Seamus, a solitary lighthouse keeper who is at loggerheads with the island locals because of a personal tragedy he blames on them.
He bonds with Edith, much to the annoyance of his loyal housekeeper who has silently loved him for years. The resulting love triangle brings unexpected changes that impact all their lives.
Liam Neeson and a film crew spent several weeks in and around Glencolmcille, Ardara and Kilcar not so long ago while filming In the Land of Saints and Sinners and of course, it's worth recalling that the Star Wars epic The Last Jedi was shot in and around Malin Head back in 2016
Filming will take place in August and September and casting sessions will be held before the end of July. The filmmakers are asking people to get in touch with them at: Cryfromthesesa@gmail.com if they want more information on how to apply. Add your CV and a headshot as well.
Who knows, a small role here might lead to a bigger role elsewhere!
