Cyclist aged in his 20s 'seriously injured' after hit-and-run in Dundalk

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run collision in Co Dundalk. 

A cyclist fell from his bicycle and was struck by a passing vehicle on the Castletown Road on Monday afternoon (September 25) at approximately 1.50pm. 

The car failed to remain at the scene of the collision. 

The male cyclist (aged in his late 20s) was seriously injured during the collision and was removed from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. 

He was treated for his injuries, which are non-life threatening. 

Any road users and pedestrians who were on Castletown Road and surrounding areas on the afternoon of Monday between 1.45pm and 2.30pm and noticed any unusual activity is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

Anyone who may have camera footage (including dash cam) of this area for Monday afternoon is asked to make this available to Gardaí.
