THE bodies of a man and a woman who were found dead at a house in County Clare have been removed from the scene, gardai have confirmed.
The bodies of the pair, who were aged in their fifties, were found at a property in Killinaboy, close to Corofin on Thursday afternoon.
The have been named locally as as Joe and Claire Collins.
In an update, issued this Friday morning, gardai confirmed the bodies of the deceased have now been removed from the scene and conveyed to the morgue at University Hospital Limerick.
"Post-mortem examinations are due to take place by Assistant State Pathologist Dr. Margot Bolster at a later stage today, the outcome of which will determine the course of the garda investigation," said a spokesperson.
The scene where the bodies were discovered remains preserved for an examination by the Garda National Technical Bureau.
Gardaí in County Clare are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information to contact them and an incident room has been established at Ennis garda station.
