Gardaí investigating serious assault and death of Dublin man arrest three young people

Gardaí investigating the death of a man in Dublin have arrested three people. 

The deceased man - aged in his 30s - passed away from serious injuries sustained during an assault which occurred at approximately 4.30am on the Larkhill Road, Whitehall, Dublin 9.

The assault took place on Sunday July 30 and he died two days later on Tuesday August 1. 

Two men and one woman - all aged in their 20s - were arrested this morning (Tuesday December 5) in the Dublin area by detectives from Ballymun Garda Station. 

One of the men is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, while the other man and woman are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

All three are being held at Garda Stations in the Dublin Region.

Investigations are ongoing.
