Several journalists have called out Clare Daly after she refused to talk to RTÉ, after losing her MEP seat.
Outgoing controversial MEP Clare Daly snubbed RTÉ after losing her seat in the European Parliament election, as she accused them of having "no interest" in talking to her over the past five years.
When asked by a reporter from RTÉ on camera if she would speak to them, Ms Daly said: "You’ve no interest in talking to me for five years, so I’ve no interest in talking to you."
Comments which quickly got called out by journalists across the country, who have tried to engage with Ms Daly in the past.
Political editor of The Sunday Times, Hugh O'Connell commented on X: "On the contrary, my colleague @JohnMooneyIRL made strenuous efforts to talk to Clare Daly in recent months".
Ireland and Britan Editor of the Irish Times, Mark Hennessy also reacted to the news on social media: "Every candidate can be forgiven for being in bad temper in defeat, but this is simply not true."
"You’d no interest in talking to me” says the former MEP who ignored more calls and emails from journalists than could be counted," another journalist commented on X.
