Over 100 Aer Lingus flights to and from Ireland have been cancelled on the day of strike action.
In addition to work-to-rule industrial action due to take place between June 26 and July 2, Aer Lingus has received strike notice from the Irish Air Line Pilots' Association (IALPA) for Saturday June 29 as well.
The strike - which comes due to pilots' demands for a 24% pay increase - will reportedly take place from 5am to 1pm (IST) and is expected to cause major disruption to both customers and flight schedules.
Customers travelling on this date will reportedly be contacted by the airline today (Saturday June 22) with information on rescheduling and refund/voucher options.
A large number of Aer Lingus flights were cancelled yesterday, with further flights added to a rolling cancellation list today.
Fifty seven flights departing from Ireland on June 29 have been confirmed cancelled, including flights from Cork, Dublin, Shannon and Knock airports.
Passengers flying to Dubrovnik in Croatia, Faro in Portugal, Athens in Greece, London in England and Tenerife in Spain are among those affected.
Fourteen flights departing the UK on the day of strike action have also been cancelled, including flights from Birmingham, London and Manchester.
Forty three Aer Lingus flights bound for Ireland from across Europe - including areas such as Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Barcelona in Spain, Brussels in Belgium and Rome in Italy - have also been cancelled.
One flight from New York to Dublin has been cancelled on the day as well.
All Aer Lingus Regional flights (operated by Emerald Airlines) and Aer Lingus UK transatlantic flights to and from Manchester will operate as scheduled.
The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) has issued advice to the thousands of passengers et to be affected by the cancellations.
