An Irish firefighter and paramedic has been labelled a hero after he "sprang into action" on holiday to save a person from drowning after "falling overboard" from a cruise ship.
Rory Foy was on holiday in Honduras when he responded quickly after the incident occurred while the boat was docking in port.
The woman was thankfully rescued after the lengthy fall into the water, as Rory reached her with a life buoy, and she was able to cling to him until the two reached the shore.
Dublin Fire Brigade took to social media to praise the firefighter, explaining that "Rory, who is a swift water rescue technician, took a lifebuoy thrown by a bystander and swam to the person with it".
"Here's hoping the rest of the holiday is quieter," they added.

Many joined in the praise for the Dublin firefighter, with many labelling a hero.
One commenter, seemingly a friend of Rory's, said "Bravo me auld pal, wouldn’t have expected any less from you".
Another congratulated the firefighter, adding; "Never off duty! That's top class from Rory".
