PICTURES: Grinning graduates and families from across Ireland celebrate at MTU ceremonies

There were celebratory smiles galore with over 2,500 students from across Ireland graduating from Munster Technological University (MTU) during its Autumn 2024 Cork Campus Conferring ceremonies this week.

Three days of ceremonies are being held at the MTU Arena on the Bishopstown campus from October 30 to November 1, following a ceremony at MTU Cork School of Music on October 24. Last week, 580 graduates also received their degrees at MTU’s Kerry North Campus in Tralee, bringing the total number of degrees awarded across MTU in Autumn 2024 to an impressive 3,232.

There are 95 different nationalities among MTU’s graduates from a wide array of disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineering; Building and Civil Engineering; Science and Informatics; Humanities; Business; Fine Art and Applied Art; Music and Theatre; and Media Communications. The awards being presented include 23 PhD degrees and one Honorary Doctorate, while four students will also be honoured with posthumous awards.
