A popular Dublin Airport restaurant has announced it is set to temporarily close from Saturday night until next year.

The Garden Terrace, a hotspot for jet setters travelling from Terminal 1, will close from Saturday night for refurbishment, the airport announced in a Facebook post on Friday.

“Passenger notice‼️ The Garden Terrace in T1 will close for refurbishment from tomorrow night (Saturday)," the post began.

As to when it will re-open, they stated: “The popular outlet will be back open - better than ever - in Q1 2025!”

For those seeking their 'traditional' pre-flight pint or final smoke, there is still good news.

"In the meantime, the external garden and bar will remain open, serving hot & cold drinks," they confirmed.

Social media users have voiced mixed emotions on the closure in the comments.

One user said: "The only decent place to eat in Dublin Airport, I hope when it returns it isn’t like the Fallow."

Another said: "Ah Jesus Christ! It’s the most fun part of Dublin Airport."

While a third commented: "So when will it be back open?? One needs a smoke and a few beers before a flight.. It's tradition sure."
