Kilkenny woman wins €50,000 on scratch card on her birthday, remarkably for the second time!

They say a Déjà vu is an illusion of memory, but for Anne Foley from County Kilkenny, her illusion was a reality. Anne's 60th birthday was already shaping up to be memorable. Surrounded by family and friends at a surprise celebration, she was handed a small, colourful envelope. Inside was a birthday card with a scratch card—a surprise that would soon bring an unexpected burst of joy into her life... again!

Remarkably for Anne, she not only won the €50,000 on her 60th birthday but she had also won the same prize of €50,000 on her 52nd birthday, on a scratch card given to her by her mother.

The similarities were uncanny. It was the same time of day, and her son was in the shower, just as he had been eight years ago. Her husband, David, called her to check in on his way home from work, just like before. It was as if time had folded in on itself, creating a magical moment of synchronicity.

“I was lost for words – I couldn’t believe that it had happened again! The fact that it all unfolded just like it did 8 years ago, almost spooked me out, but I wasn’t complaining!”

“The last time I won, we were able to clear the remainder of our mortgage and tackle some home improvements that I had on the list, it really made such a difference to our lives.”

Anne couldn't help but laugh at the sheer strangeness of it all. "Lightning really does strike twice", she cried.

With her amazing birthday win Anne is hoping to add solar panels to her house, along with cruising around the Caribbean Islands with her husband.
