Met Éireann has confirmed that nine counties in Ireland are set to be hit with rain this coming long weekend after issuing a Status Yellow weather warning, with risks of localised flooding.
The counties affected are Cork, Kerry, Galway, Mayo, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Waterford and Wicklow. With the warnings taking place on different days and times, here is everything you need to know about the Status Yellow rain warning and when to expect the downpours to hit.
Cork and Kerry's Status Yellow weather warning will begin on Thursday, April 17, at 11pm and is set to be lifted the following day at 12pm.

The weather warning will then come into effect for Galway and Mayo on Friday, April 18, at 6am and will be lifted at 9pm on the same day.
Looking towards Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Waterford and Wicklow, the Status Yellow comes into effect at 6am on Friday, April 18 and will stay in place until Saturday, April 19, at 6am.
The Irish Meteorological Service stated that while these warnings are in place, the spells of rain will only be heavy at times, as many look forward to the Easter bank holiday.
